CLUB RUN REPORT NARROGIN 25TH MAY
Given that 18 members and 20 bikes are on the eve of departure for the Tasmanian Nationals and the fact that Saturdays rain threatened to turn Dandallo Park into Dandallo Lake, organizers were pleasantly surprised when 46 competitors, including 9 sidecars rolled up for a day in the mud!!!!
Once again Frank had been busy preparing the track and doing all the other usual stuff. Thanks Frank!! The usual grade races were run plus over 55s and the days feature race Pre 70, but the highlight of the day had to be the sidecars!! As mentioned a healthy field of 9 outfits lined up on the start line for 4 rounds of handicapped racing plus the final race which was a le mans start 4 lapper.
President Pete debuted his new (old) Pre 68 BSA B33 outfit. The crowd was speechless as they marveled at the incredible speed that this machine was able to achieve, at times I swear Pete and passenger Andrew were doing at least 25 kilometres per hour! The crowd were on the edge of their seats as Pres Pete and Phill on the hill (Pre 68 Triumph) were engaged in many dogfights throughout the day.
A great day was had by all and mention must be made of Ted Lewis and his fast and reliable CR 125 Honda. Ted was finishing most C grade races either first or second. Lookout Ted B grade may be just around the corner for you!
For those who decided to stay home you guys missed a great days racing.
Dont forget Bunbury on the 22nd June, all the National riders will be back on deck so may be we can field full races for this one.
See you there.
