BUSY BEE/TUNING DAY NARROGIN 1ST AND 2ND MARCH 2008 |
|
|
|
Tuesday, 04 March 2008 |
|
Narrogin can be a cruel place in summer and this weekend proved to be no exception with temperatures hovering around the high 30s. The track was as dry as a seized two stroke and the only thing glad to be out there were the Narrogin bull ants. About 25-30 people had turned up by lunch time and soon most hardy souls were out on the track helping cut firewood. I decided to walk the track before everyone arrived and found it had held up well over the closed season, only a couple of trees to clear off the track and to my surprise I found that gear lever rubber off my Greeves I lost last year! I also had the pleasure of walking the track with MWA official Graham Pritchard who carried out his track inspection.
His report mentioned a few minor house keeping issues, these we shall need to address prior to our next race day on 25th, 26th and 27th April. A few of us also nutted out a spot for the 40 foot container which should arrive at the track within a couple of weeks. It will be a relief to store all our possessions away in a more secure spot.
By late afternoon it had cooled off slightly and a few hardy souls took to the track while a few more sensible members sat around telling bigger lies as the bourbon/afternoon progressed. Gary Johnstone had the tree huggers up in arms as he watered the clubhouse roof to cool the inhabitants down. I unfortunately had to leave that night so I cant report on the sore heads the next day or the heroics of our riders, Ill leave that up to Club Captain Robert.
Many thanks to everybody who pitched in at the busy bee.

Here it is... whatever it is!
Some said it couldn't be done... some said it shouldn't be done!!
The absolute ultimate in dirt bike pleasure, the best of both worlds (a) one of the most technically advanced frames in its day (b) period lime green tank and guard (c) state of the art suspension front and rear (d) 45 brake horse power on tap,350cc of Torque Induction, twin cylinders running two 28mm Mikuni carburettors WOW what else could a man want?
All that is missing is a name for the Behemoth.I shall be running a competition with the winner awarded a book entitled 'The History Of Greeves' for the best name given to her.The name must include the following in its construction "Yamaha" and "Greeves".
**Webmaster: How about "Yam-a-greeves-aha!"**
Good luck. Send your artistic literary efforts to the prez:

Presidential Plea!!!! |

Friday, 07 December 2007 |
Okay you guys theres something like 150 VMXWA members out there but as to date not one of you has put your hand up for the all important position of Club Secretary, I really dont know what youre all afraid of? Theres a free crash course on How to be a perfect Club Secretary from Mr Tudehope and a free plastic box to carry around all those important documents.
Seriously though we need someone to replace our knackered secretary, hes done a sterling job for the past few years but needs a break and we need a fresh face up there at Club meets. It really isnt a big deal, perhaps one of you over 55s would like to step up to the challenge or even a country member would like to take up the reins. If you are remotely interested or would like to dob in mate in let me know. Give the old bugger a break!
President Pete
*Webmasters Note: I can confirm that the old Secretary is as worn out as a filterless XL350 on a dusty Narrogin Sunday * |

AGM Update |
|
|
|
Wednesday, 31 October 2007 |
|
After the crushing crowd fought tooth and nail for the exalted Committee positions and the blood was cleaned up, Captain Pete was President Pete, Mr Treasurer became Treasurer Andrew, and Mr Secretary became the Invisible Man!
A big thanks to the following for stepping up to the Committee for 2008: Peter B, Andrew I, Rick S, Mike B, Robert D, Richard J, and the auxiliary web/newsletter team of Hoppy and Mr Moiseev's stalker.
There are still some vacant roles for people willing to make an effort for the club (remember if we all sat on our arse thered be no club). So contact President Pete B to see what you can do. |
