Captain Robert's Riverting Report Ready Readable...
Sorry to disappoint President Pete but fortunately there wasnt any hangovers to report on from the weekend. Well none that I was made aware of.
The Sunday morning started off extremely relaxed until a certain someone (Thanks Mr Treasurer) reminded me that we were there to ride and lets get a move on before it gets too hot. And that we did.
We commenced the proceedings with an extremely adlib riders briefing outlining how not to conduct a riders briefing. Forget all the important stuff and remind everyone about the upcoming race meet at Collie. Fortunately everything ran well and there were no major problems
. On a side note I have ensured that my briefing sheet will be with me at the next race meet.
Everyone was quick to get out on the track and the day progressed quickly. Everyone decided that enough was enough by lunch time and slowly departed allowing those that stayed around extra time to go out and tear the track up (Well at least make a bit of dust) Considering we havent been there for a while the track was smoother than I expected and was a joy to ride on, despite the heat.
I am also informed that those who stayed over Sunday night enjoyed great excitement with local youths setting the bush to the back of the track alight (at approx. 830pm, and everyone retiring at around midnight), luckily no one was injured except for the local front end loader that was being used to carve a track for the fire truck and ended up with smashed windows and a broken pin on his bucket.
Thanks very much to those that helped out at the Saturday Busy Bee and also thanks to those the arrived for the Busy Bee on the Sunday due to a slight (it was only a day!) error on my part with the calendar.
All for now, see you at Collie on the 16th of March with the feature race being the Under 30s. Dont forget that the Collie club are providing a BBQ tea on the 15th March for $7 which includes BBQ pack, bread roll and salad. There are also canteen facilities available on the Sunday, so please support the Collie Club.
