This is the first of an irregular column from our irregular Captain, Peter B.
G'day Club Members,
If you don't already know my name is Peter and I am your new Club
Captain, taking over from a very successful stint from Phil 'On The Hill' who
stepped aside after an embarrassing incident with a Honda Goldwing, which we
won't go into any further details!
I love this time of year, that Christmas thing is behind us and the
tuning day is with in sight and at long last our racing season is about to
start. I can feel the anticipation in the air, that project that you have been
working on over the last 5 months is just ready for its first outing, or that
elusive engine seal has just arrived to complete that engine re-build. Whether
it's time to show of that 'Barn Find' or catch up with old mates, let's bring
it on!!
You may have noticed a timetable for race days this year, which I
hope to adhere to so that everybody gets a full days racing in for the day. I
would like to see every rider have a minimum of 5 rides plus the All In plus
the feature races.
2007 is the year I world like to see some of the better riders in
each class(B, C and D!) make the step up a grade so that we can all eventually
give the A graders a run for their money. Initially I would hope riders will
take up the challenge, but if you keep finishing in the top 5 you'll be given
the A, B or C card!
I would also like to encourage riders with older and less
competitive bikes to bring them along to race days so that you can race them in
a grade below you, just come and see me on the day.
Being new at this job I am always looking at ways to improve our
race days, so if you have any constructive ideas good or bad please let me
know. Please feel free to contact me on

Happy and safe racing for 2007.
