Remember Tricky Dick "I am not a crook" Nixon?  Well it seems the Motorcycle Convention over the weekend gave our Captain some dirt on the Vice President, Nick "I am not a celebrity" Maxfield!

Bill Watson talks the hind leg off a donkey.

As we all know our Vice President Nick Maxfield is the Salt of the Earth, he never sets a foot wrong, he indeed has the ‘midas touch’.

Well a disturbing incident at The Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show has come to light, so serious is the nature of this incident it may cast a shadow on his position.  The facts of the matter are as follows.  Having met Nick Thursday afternoon to unload our bikes for the VMXWA display in conjunction with MWA we casually arranged Robert and Sarah’s triple sidecar, the Watsons brace of Husky’s, Nicks B44 and Bully 125 and my Cotton and YZ250A.  We unfolded the club banner and strung it across the window for everyone to see.  Taking a well earned break we chatted to Peter from MWA who was erecting their stand, he also had a nice selection of display boards promoting each MWA discipline.  While admiring the Classic Motocross board I felt that I recognized the open faced rider astride a red Matchless, yes indeed, it was our very own Nick!

Here is the evidence, Nick caught on camera red handed, must have cost a few bob in bribes hey?

Has our Nick been in cahoots with MWA all along?  Has Nick paid off MWA officials to get himself on their promotional material?  Is Nick an MWA official in drag?  The answer is a resounding YES.  So serious is the matter President Peter has called an extraordinary meeting the discuss discipline.

On a lighter note I would like to thank the following for giving up their valuable time in promoting our club at the weekend.  One source said we had 15,000 people pass our display!

Nick Maxfield, Bill and Brian Watson, Robert Dillon and Mike Brady.

And all that exposure didn’t cost the club a cent, every flyer was taken and I wish I had a dollar for everytime I heard ‘I used to have one of them, wish I never got rid of it’.

More pics courtesy of the Brady-Dillons.

Fred's new rider looks rather fit!   Do that on ya Cotton Captain!
