Round Three

Duncan Rae's beautiful British Iron

When life couldn't get any better another Ajay stormer turns up

Great to see the tiddlers come out and play. Bet a busted throttle grip you can't guess the make of carburettor (Clue - made in Ireland)

Mike just tell us the pace is too fast and you don't want to play anymore (Mike fakes a broken brake lever!).

A beautiful balmy day awaited 47 riders who turned up to the home of West Australian VMX.  It would appear that the timetable on our website has been read by most riders who were ready and waiting to sign on and have their bikes inspected at 8am, all this was carried out by 8.45 with the riders meeting over by 9.20am.  Practice was underway 10 minutes later.

One item of some concern during  practice was the fact that some riders were ignoring the yellow flags and overtaking.  Please be aware that the yellow flags held up by the flaggies is for everybody's safety so no overtaking in practice or racing.

A grade was a little light on in numbers with Syd Swepstone showing everybody how to get the most out of his Bultaco.

B grade was hotly contested with 'Honest' Mick Godbold on fire and eventually being shown the dreaded A grade sign.  All things legal Alan Tudehope showed some silky touches but retired his KTM due to fatigue.

C grade, now talk about riders not wanting to leave their security blanket!  one particular rider (no names but has a number 51 on his number plate) was a good 1/2 lap in front of the tailenders by race end.  Him and his Bulhon shown the B grade sign, then goes on to win B Grade!

Pre '75/'65 had about 8 bikes with a nicely restored 1954 BSA taking up the challenge.  Is Duncan's Beeza the eldest in the club.  Pete Lawson didn't hold back from ringing the Golstars neck!

In all a great day and it was good to see members helping out flagging which is always appreciated, it makes the racing a lot safer.

Our next race day location has been changed and we are back to Narrogin on 27th May, the feature races being Sidecars and 4 strokes.
