Narrogin Night Series 1 Race Report

A race report from President Gary!

Saturday busy bee and First Night Race at the home of vintage motocross Narrogin.

The weather was overcast with drizzling rain as our band of happy workers toiled away cutting wood, removing everything out of the container for the new floor to go in and levelling the ground in front of the canteen for the placement of slabs.

Lighting poles were installed around the shortened track, power leads attached, generators in position to make sure everything was ready for the first night ride.

The small number of riders that attended had a fantastic night of racing with everybody looking forward to the next one on the 1st April 2017.  The nights racing consisted of  A Grade, B Grade, Over 55 and sidecars. A grade had Mike Laurie showing a clean pair of heels to David Latham and Mike Gordon who were having a great tussle for the minor placings.  Jason Dillon riding a little 125 was showing great pace.  B grade had Steve Hanson /Bill Bartell/ and numerous others all putting on a fantastic show of racing.  Over 55’s Mike Laurie once again was giving everybody a riding lesson,  Mike Godbold and Stan Reed were having a great time racing under lights for the minor placings. Sidecars had Gary Johnson and new passenger Nick Ferguson giving the pairing of Sarah and Jason Dillon a lesson in how wide you can make a sidecar so as to make it impossible to pass.

Hope to see bigger numbers at the next night series race.
