Northam Districts Motorcycle Club – Ride Park Day 2 May 2021.

Our third event for the year was an invite by the Northam Districts Club to attend the ride park day along with the Classic VMX Club at the NDMCC new venue just outside Northam town site.

Saturday evening camping  at the track was Hayes and Asry, Jason Plumley and myself..got a bit cool ..but all good.

Sunday dawned bright  and clear with a hot air balloon off to the east..quite spectacular…

Sign on, which included “modern” riders was 140 (ish) of which about 45 were vintage and classic guys..

NDMCC initial invite to us was firstly to showcase the venue and assess the suitability of the track for a possible future State Championship race day..

I have to say the the track is really well suited to classic machinery..I thought that, perhaps after the full round of time slots with 50 ish “moderns” the track would have gotten quite rough..but, it didn’t ..and even after 3 rounds the track was still relatively easy to ride..going forward, with only classic and post classic bikes using the track, I believe the venue will hold up really well..

So a big thank you to the NDMCC for the effort in track prep and watering..great stuff

Once again Sarah and Robert opened eyes with the sidecar, enough so that there was a volunteer from the Classic Club, Daniel, to swing for a couple of laps..brave man..I caught up with him afterwards..he was stuffed..but had a big smile and was laughing..with what little breath he had left..haha..

Robert and Sarah were also seen playing “chaperone” to a small rider on a pee wee.. good work..

As a very famous President would say..no one got hurt…Everyone went home happy and in one piece…great days riding.. bonus is the track is a little over an hour up the hill from Perth..look forward to heading there soon..

Keep an eye out for Deb Miller’s exceptional photography wfofotos.com or facebook –  Wicked Photo Outlet.. Thanks Deb.

Next event for us is a busy bee / practice day at Paynes Find, May 30th..small amount of clean up required around the containers..and some track maintenance and discussions around changes to the layout..come down Saturday, lend a hand..camp overnight..tell some lies..ride your bike Sunday..get a grin on your face…
