Sunday 28th May, RACE Day – “Paynes Find”, Wandering

Our first official RACE DAY of the year. Proper elastic band start and chequered flag, come along and race your mates like the good ole days. Dust off those 125s, it’s capacity race time. Camping Saturday night is encouraged, please no separate camp fires, there will be the usual communal camp fire.
Classes on offer for the day are:
-125cc 2 stroke/250cc 4 stroke Pre 75
-250cc Pre 75
-Open Pre 75
-Evolution (“twin shock”), Including Pre 78
-Sidecars
Please be aware that scrutineering will be in action so please check the main areas of concern. Handlebar ends plugged, steering stem bearings not overly loose/sloppy, wheel bearings no sideways movement of wheel, frame bearing and bushes no excessive play, no loose/broken spokes, throttles self returning and your brakes work. Also ensure your helmet has the appropriate standard sticker attached to it.

For those that require a one event competition licence if you could try and purchase through ridernet that would save a massive amount of time at sign on, saves you money and also saves the organisers time leading up to future events. Sunday 21st May – Busy Bee – “Paynes Find”, Wandering

Could we please get some assistance from 9am onwards on the 21st May to make some last minute clean ups to the track in readiness for our Race Day the following week. There is a large tree that has fallen in the middle of the pits area so many chainsaws will help make light work of that. There is also some extra track work and clean up planned, with some big machinery planned to be there again.

Collie 16/4/23 – Presidents Ride Report

First of all I would like to thank the Collie MX Club for the use of their venue and facilities, Classic MX Club and in particular Dan Mac in the way he advertised the event to Classic members who turned out in force. We had 19 VMX riders and 34 Classic riders.
For those who weren’t there the Collie event was the tale of 2 stories, the swap meet was a shamble with only club stalwart Alison Melvin providing some wonderful memorabilia, Paul Jones a bit of gear and I had a couple of things that come home with me. Yeah maybe I’ll let that one rest. On the other hand the BBQ packs and movie night was a different story, the hall was full, the barbie was cranking, beers were flowing and stories were coming thick and fast. The night had a real family feel about it which was great to see, Although some of the committee were still discussing the worlds problems well after midnight. Some people will never learn….
Thanks to Richard Hall for the movies and a huge thanks to Collie MX legend and former VMX racer Steve Melvin who spent all of Saturday preparing what was a fantastic track and both sides of the bar on Saturday night.
Sunday we had it all, good numbers, a great track and perfect weather. Mike Gordon turned up and got sign under way while Rob Dillon took charge, organised the flaggies with radios supplied by Collie Club, and I made myself a coffee because with Rob around you just let him go, what a legend.
As always a big thanks to Wayne Fanderlinden for running the start and to all flaggies who gave up their time for us to enjoy a terrific weekend.
