President’s Report 2017

What a great year we have had. Starting off with our first club-run under lights, the 15 year anniversary at Wandering and the first ride at Ian Payne’s property at Wandering that from now on will be known as Payne’s Find. All of the club-runs organized by your committee and their band of happy helpers put in a lot of hard work to ensure that you had a safe and enjoyable ride. I would like to thank those hard-working members for their help during the year and special thanks to Barbara Brady for the extra work she put in all year long. These people are what make me proud to be a member of this club. On the sad side we lost longtime member and great bloke Ross Campbell and were told our lease at Narrogin will not be renewed in July 2020. Hopefully, the shire will come to its senses and let us stay on as we are the best tenants they will ever have. Work completed by the club at Narrogin included a small wall to allow leveling for a paved area in front of the canteen and shade sails installed to make the viewing of the days racing more comfortable for our members. Wandering this year saw the club and the Ferguson Family celebrate 15 years of racing at the Mill Farm track. We pitched a large pavilion so as to have a meal with Ferguson family and remind the new members that the club run started out as and still is in remembrance of Dan Ferguson.

I hope everybody enjoyed themselves this year.

I wish you all a safe and happy festive season and hope to see you all next year.

VMXWA President.
