VMX 2017 Track News

Hi everybody and welcome to season 2017 and what a great season it’s shaping up to be.  A very full calendar already.

Good news first.  The two old gentlemen who came to Narrogin and did a whole days work, it is rumoured that both were off life support and are now on oxygen only, should be back to health by the week’s end.

Our first event will be the night series. The 380-metre track has taken shape with lots of twists and turns plus a jump or two.  This event will be run under lights on the Saturday night, so anyone who has a spare generator can we please borrow it?  Please let Gary or myself know.  A working bee will precede both meets.

Our combined meet with the Classic Club will be held at Darkan on April 30th.  Richard has been elected president again and is very keen to foster the friendship between the 2 clubs so let’s get there in big numbers and support him.  The other race dates for the Classic Club at Darkan are May 28; July 23; Aug 13 & Sept 3. Other dates to keep in mind are the Nationals in Port Pirie SA on the weekend of Aug 19 & 20.  Maybe a convoy across the plain again.

The big one !!!! VMX 2017 calendar – this will be released Wednesday at the monthly meeting so make sure you are there to get it hot off the press, plus enjoy some free pizza (extra weight = traction).  This year’s Wandering will be the fifteenth anniversary of the event so plans have already started to make this one to remember (further details as they come to hand).  Dandaloo classic will again be run on the June long weekend (3 and 4th) at Narrogin.

IMPORTANT RULE CHANGE!!!!!!!!! – As from JANUARY FIRST 2017 all tear offs will be banned for all disciplines of motocross, so if you use them, you may need to use a little of the race budget to purchase some roll alongs.

Not yet confirmed, but have on some authority, that Bridgetown is back on in 2017, possibly the Sept long weekend.

That’s it, for now, happy racing for 2017.
PS If anybody has any cement slabs (600×600), they don’t want, the club would appreciate them, let me or Gary know.
