Mill Farm 2021

Another very enjoyable Mill Farm Scramble run and won..!!
I’d like to thank many….firstly Chad and Julie Ferguson for their continued support for the event on Mill Farm.. such a great venue, marquee event for the VMX Club for good reason.
All the people who got to the track on Saturday to help with the setup.. Wayne Fanderlinden and Ryan..Craig Harris and his family..Paul Gibbs, Trevor Lobegeiger, David and Peter Latham..Michael Gordon and Jacob.. Andrew Hyland, Trevor Rivers, Andrew Irving..makes set up so much easier. David Latham for playing starter and finisher all day..Don McGrath, Michael Gordon and Jacob Gordon , Andrew Hyland for flagging..couldn’t run an event without you guys. Thanks too to Steve Riley for his expert commentary..really brings the event alive. Barbara Brady for her work as Race Secretary..again..a much needed facet of the event. Robert Dillon, Sarah Dillon and Fred Dillon for their efforts behind the scenes to produce the advertising poster and the program..great work. Thanks to the Wandering Bushfire Brigade and the Wandering Lions Club for slaving over a hot BBQ all day..much appreciated..well done Shaun Brand. The Boddington St Johns Ambulance guys..who didn’t have to get out of the cab all day..thanks for your attendance. All those who ventured over to the Wandering Tavern for a drink and a bite to eat Saturday night….and to Uber Trev for the rides..Phew
Sunday race day dawned with some fog..once racing got underway we witnessed some great A Grade tussles between Brook Lawson and Ralph Miller both on the mighty Maicos.
Sidecars, my personal favourites were great to watch..with Gary Johnson, depending on who was swinging , showing the way..great to see Luke and Ross Varnavides doing some skids..hope you guys enjoyed the day. C grade was awash with Grasso’s.. with John and Laurie prominent. Pre 65/70 was entertaining with Peter McDonald making the twin Triumph sing..great stuff Macca. The over 60’s age race was dominated by Ralph Miller, with Kevin Clayden testing out the muddy first corner. B Grade looked like a Paul Gibbs festival with any one of Paul’s bikes at the front with Stuart Aldred and David Lawson close by. The final event for the day, the Dan Ferguson Handicap was won handily by Brook Lawson with Ryan Fanderlinden and Asry Bizar beating the rest of us.
Once again, thanks to the town of Wandering for having us once again..the spectators who lined the track were great to see..even to the extent that some were still parked up in the sun with a wine long after the racing had finished.
I look forward to 2022.
