Narrogin Race Report Easter 2012

2012 begins with an Easter race meeting at Narrogin.

The meeting started as a grade  meeting for three rounds with some of the old face coming out for the free Easter eggs, and track prepared and watered by club  stalwart Frank. The new slightly lowered water pipe filled the water trucks and work like a well oiled BSA.
Racing got under way pretty much on time with forty-one riders.  Not a bad turnout for Easter Sunday.
Dave Jarvis had been polishing hard during the break and the Rickman looked a picture.  Barry was out on the new addition MAG husky that retired early with a gearbox gremlin to bring out the trusty old YAM.  A grade saw Chris Lindgren with little competition and starter Rick Speak was spitting as he wished he was mixing it up with the YOUNG guy.
Vic and Dale James unloaded the Spanish collection though Vic did have a slight fuel issue on the line (I keep that between us Vic).  B grade was a entertaining event seeing close racing between brothers Steve and Ian Brown and the pensioners friend Mick on the BSA. However most were headed by the Younger of the Browns.
C grade had some new faces and the Rolfe clan made up half the field with 125 Honda’s and Suzuki’s a plenty.
Before lunch there was a full round of capacity racing with eleven 125’s and at the end of the event there were still nine running strong.  Warren Rabbit- burrow had a great day sucking up all the fresh air and going home with his gear still clean.
The best comment of the day came from Trevor Lobergeiger “who needs a sweep rider while I’m here”.  A big hand for all the flaggies, officials Gary, Nick and Susie and Dot for being the race Secretary’s assistants.
Welcome to our 2 first time riders, Chris Cole and Ashleigh Mogg. We hope to see you both riding at future events.

See you all at Collie on the 6/5/12.  Don’t forget to bring that old RH Suzuki that you just don’t use anymore and sell it at the swap meet on Saturday.
The Collie club will be selling BBQ packs Saturday night and there will be Canteen breakfast and lunch available Sunday. We encourage you to support the Collie Club Canteen so bring your wallets along.
